Dear Sir/ Madam

We are two volunteers from Holland and England, living in Big Bend and working in the local community for one year. We are aged 18 and 19 and attached to the Gap year organization Project trust. If you would like to find out more about the organizations aims and objectives. Our work currently includes teaching English at the Moriah Centre and running a reading programme at Majombe Primary school. We would however like to make the most of our year, so have set ourselves the target of helping Big Bend and its surrounding area as much as physically possible for two young enthusiastic girls.

We would like to set up an art club for children whom have nothing to do in the afternoon, this would give them much needed supervision and education. Our initial ideas include making (board) games, jigsaws and toys that they could use at home. We would like to focus on the most disadvantaged children at primary school age, those whom do not normally get the opportunity to be creative.

We would be very thankful with any supplies like old paint, paper, pencils or crayons to set up the art club. If you have any suggestions or advice for us we would be more than grateful to talk with you.
