KING CONFIRMS MGAZI AS COMMISSIONER
By Sisho Magagula - SWAZI OBSERVER-10-Oct-2009
His Majesty King Mswati III has appointed Muzuthini Isaiah Ntshangase as new Commissioner for His Majesty’s Correctional Services.
The Ingwenyama made the announcement in the presence of throngs of spectators during the double celebrations of the Correctional Day and Pass-Out Parade for recruits.
Ntshangase has been acting in the position since late last year after the departure of Mnguni Simelane, who was appointed into the Ludzidzini Committee.
Whilst making the announcement, the King threw the multitudes into stitches of laughter as he toyed around with their emotions and literally kept them eating from the palm of his hands with well-created suspense antics such that – for a moment – most people thought someone else would be appointed into the position. “I hope you have prayed well for the person that I’m going to appoint and I’m going to appoint the person who you have been praying for,” said the King, whilst keeping the people in growing suspense.
The sounds of ‘Bayethe wena Waphakathi’ reverberated across the correctional facility when the Head of State finally made the announcement. Former Assistant Commissioner was also appointed Deputy Commissioner Dumsani Dlamini during the well-attended event. His Majesty further congratulated the newly-recruited officials and encouraged them to follow in the footsteps of their seniors whilst executing their duties in the various correctional facilities across the Kingdom.
“I trust that as you will be deployed to various workstations, you will continue uplifting the high standard of the correctional services so that everyone who sees you does not doubt that you’re indeed an officer of the Correctional,” said the King.
Prime Minister Dr Barnabas Sibusiso Dlamini, cabinet ministers, members of Liqoqo, diplomats and members of both houses of parliament attended the colourful event.
