By NTOKOZO MAGONGO - SWAZI TIMES-19-Sep-2009
MBABANE – The Swaziland National Sports Council (SNSC) has banned the netball national team from engaging in sexual intercourse while parti-cipating in the COSANA Senior Challenge games in Durban, South Africa.
SNSC Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Victor Shabangu said they are not expecting any negative reports upon return of the team. “You are going to the games to represent the country. You are not expected to engage in any mischievous conduct while in South Africa,” he said.
Shabangu urged the team to behave and represent the country well. He said he was happy that only few males are accompanying the team. Shabangu said, as a country, they are expecting good results from the team. “We are hopeful that you are going to come back with a medal from the games. I’ve heard that you had enough time preparing for the games. Hope you will work well with the coaches,” he said.
The team is expected to leave the country for the games, starting tomorrow. NNAS Secretary Victor ‘Mavikane’ Dlamini said the team is not only going to the games to participate but to compete. He said as an association, they had done everything to prepare the team.
“For the first time, the team was able to train together for almost two months. We are hopeful that they will win something from the games,” he said.
