LOZITHA–Brazil’s Ambassador to Swaziland Antonio De Souza says the Brazilian experience in fighting HIV/AIDS can be shared with Swaziland.
De Souza said this during the official ceremony for the presentation of letters of credentials to His Majesty the King.
He noted that the countries’ relations were related to many important issues confronted by the international community, such as sustainable development, social inclusion and poverty alleviation.
He also said the country would benefit from IBSA, a trust fund set up by three countries and run by the UNDP and has seen the development of a tomato processing plant in Pigg’s Peak.
He said there were several areas in which his country can cooperate, especially on health and agriculture. “Regarding agriculture, there is also a good potential for cooperation, particularly in the areas of sugar and ethanol, and some initial contacts have been already made.
The king further thanked the support his country has contributed to Africa in many ways economically and in the health section. His Majesty added that he hoped De Souza will bring more Brazilians to start businesses in the country and that Brazil is a country that produces sugar so they will share some ideas.
